Interim Pastor
News!
The Interim Search Committee and the Session hosted
Pastor James O. Pitts III (prefers to be called Jim) on a visit to Garden City
last weekend. Jim met the church staff, toured the church building, watched the
children practice their Christmas program and ate pizza with them, attended a
reception with the Session, met with the committee twice, joined us at and was
interviewed by the presbytery's Committee on Ministry.
We are very pleased to announce to the congregation that
Jim has agreed to begin work as our Interim Pastor on January 1st.As soon as
possible he will move from Zanesville, Ohio where he completed his last interim
position a few months ago .He is from Mobile,
Alabama.
Jim is looking forward to joining us and was very
complementary about our church, facilities, programs, staff and leadership. He
enjoys teaching so we can anticipate some adult education opportunities as well
as his preaching and leadership in other areas.
We ate, we worshipped; we were God’s family.
Thank you to all who made the Wednesday night program and
worship service so special. This is what being part of God’s
family is about – many people with different talents coming together to honor
and glorify God.

an awesome angel.
It was wonderful to be among God’s family, celebrating the
coming of his wonderful gift, His Son, our Lord.

Special Music in January will feature Wally Hamann and
other soloists from the choir.

Two Sundays in January we will have guest
organists/pianists to fill in for Linda. They will be Carolyn Myers on Jan. 13
& Wynema Cessna on Jan. 20. These two
Sundays their will be no bell choir rehearsals. Please help remind each other of this. Rehearsals will resume upon Linda's return.
February will feature: Janet Major, vocal solo; and the
handbells will bless us with their talent.
The second Sunday of the month will include the Church Band playing the
postlude. Bring your instruments!
